Volunteer Dodge Transition
Since last summer, Trinity Church has provided leadership for Volunteer Dodge as a way to promote Christian service and volunteering throughout our community. We have been grateful for our partnership with the United Way of Dodge County for this effort. United Way helped create exposure to this site through interactions with their partner agencies and their corporate partners. We celebrate that we’ve seen the efforts of these volunteers make a difference throughout our community.
In light of United Way’s partner agencies use of the site, we are transferring ownership of Volunteer Dodge to the United Way of Dodge County. As leaders in Dodge County, the United Way stands on three pillars; Give, Advocate and Volunteer. Essentially, a role reversal is taking place in the respect that the ownership will be under United Way of Dodge County and Trinity Church — United Methodist has committed to being a sponsor for a minimum of the next two years.
Volunteer Dodge Director, Linda Chipman, will be working with United Way to help make this a smooth transition, so her expertise in supporting this online platform will not be lost; we give thanks for all of Linda's efforts on our behalf! And we will continue to post Trinity volunteer needs on Volunteer Dodge, as well as here at church.
One of our goals for this year at Trinity is to explore deeper social issues in our area. The call of the church is to care for those who are poor, hungry, hurting, oppressed and to stand up for injustices occurring in our communities. In the lives of many, these issues must be addressed before people can even begin to consider volunteering. We are presently forming teams to discuss area needs with community leaders. Please contact Pastor Cherie if you would like to help with this, at 920-887-7211 ext. 1005 or email@example.com.
